A. D. 1757. Anno tricefimo primo Georgii II. C. la. 171 of the Land Tax for any County, Riding or City in Great Britain, or by the CollecSlor of the Cufloms for any Port, or Colle6lor of the Excife for any Colledion in Great Britain, or by the Clerk of the Cheque at any of his Majefty's Dock Yards; then, and in fuch Cafe, the Captain or Commander of fucii Ship or the Captain is to VefTel is hereby ftridtly required and enjoined to caufe four Lifts to be made out, which fhall contain the ^'^^"^ P'.'T'" Names of all fuch inferior Officers and Seamen as fhall be defirous to remit to their Wives, Fathers or Mo- pg,f^°3 ,'11^^^ thers, the Whole or any Part of their Wages or Pay, except for the laft fix Months of their Service as made out. aforefaid ; in which Lifts, the Amount of the Wages or Pay fo defired to be paid, the Name and Place of Abode of fuch Officer or Seaman's Wife, Father or Mother, to whom fuch Wages or Pay are to be remit- ted and paid, and the Receiver General of the Land Tax, Colleftor of the Cuftoms, Colleitor of the Ex- cife or Clerk of the Cheque, by whom fuch Wages are to be made payable, fhall be fpecified and defcribed in three feparate diftinft Columns, oppofite to the Name of fuch Officer or Seaman, in the faid Lifts ; and which are to he every fuch Officer or Seaman who fhall fo defire that any fuch Part of his Wages or Pay may be allotted 6n=<| l^y them, and paid to his Wife, Father or Mother, fhall write his Name, or make his Mark, in a feparate diftindl q^^;^^^^P^°p" Column in the faid Lifts ; which Lifts fhall be forthwith compleated, and figned by the Captain or Com- tranrmit'ttd to mander, and proper figning Officers of fuch Ship or Veffel ; and fuch Captain or Commander fhall tranf- the Nfavy Board, mit the faid Lifts, by the firft fafe Opportunity, without any Negleft or Delay whatfoever, to the Com- mifiioners of the Navy, at their Board: And the faid Commiffioners, upon receiving fuch Lifts wherein who are to make any fuch Allotment fhall be made by any fuch inferior Officer or Seaman, of any fuch Part of his W;ges ^""^ two Bills, or Pay, to his Wife, Father or Mother, fhall immediately make out, or caufe to be made out, two Bills |^"fj'^^^^"' ^^^^5 for every fuch Allotment ; which Bills fhall be Duplicates, and joined together with oblique Lines, FIou- which are to be' rifhes or Devices, in fuch Manner as the faid Commiffioners, or any three or more of them, fhall think made payable proper ; and fhall be made payable to the Wife, Father or Mother refpe6tively, of fuch inferior Officer or according to the Seaman, by the Receiver General of the Land Tax, Colle6tor of the Cuftoms, Colle£lor of the Excife or Appointment m Clerk of the Cheque refpecftively, according to the Appointment in fuch Lifts; and the faid Bills, being ^^^ ^^J^'^^ ^, numbered and dated, fhall be figned by any three Commiffioners of the Navy, and be written or printed Commiflioneis. according to the following Form : A.
