' to hear and determine the fame on the Oath of one or more credible Witnefs or Witneflcs) {hall forfeit the Sum of one hundred Pounds, to be levied by Diltrefs and Sale of the Goods and Chatties of every fuch Offender or Offenders, by Warrant under the Hands and Seals of any two of the Juftices before whom fuch Convi6tion fliall be had, to be applied and laid out in carrying on the Works and Improvements in that Diftridt, wherein or in Relation whereto fuch Offence ftiall be committed ; and for want of fuch fufficient For want of Di- Diftrefs fuch Offender or Offenders (hall, by the faid Juftices, be committed to the common Gaol of the ^refsthtOften- faid Ifle of Ely, for any Time not exceeding twelve Months, at the Difcretion of the faid Juftices. mTt^'d^ '°"^" XXV. - ' the Banks lying contiguous and adjoining to fuch Lands are burnt and damaged by the Fire being fuffered
- ' to remain too long on fuch Lands, and to fpread to fuch Banks ;" Be it therefore enadted by-the Autho-
rity aforefaid.
