An ASf for the better , q^^^ ^ Support of hi: Majejlfs Houfehold^ and of the Honour and Dignity of the Crown of Great Britain, it was, amongft other Things, enadled, That the Rates and Duties of Excife upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors, which had been granted to his Majefty King Charles the Second, by an A6i: made in the twelfth Year of his Reign, intituled, A Grant of certain Irnpcfitiom upon Beer^ Ale, and other xzZ^^.z. Liquors, for the Ixcreafe of his Majrflfs Revenue, during his Life ; and which were granted to their late Majefties King IVilliam and Q_^een Mary, by an KOi made in the fecond Year of their Reign,2 W. & M. S^-J. i. c. 3 for their Lives, and the Life oi the Survivor of them ; and which were continued totheir late Ma- jefties Queen Anne and King George the Firft, for their Lives refpedively (a certain Duty of fix?. ©■ 3 Ann. c. 3. Pence for every Barrel of Vinegar Beer excepted) and alfo a Duty of fix Pence, Part of a Duty of i Geo. i. Ji. 2. c. 12,. eight Shillings, which was granted to his faid late Majefty King Tvillicm, for and upon every Barrel 10 Will, 3. c. u. of Vinegar, Vinegar Beer, or Liquor preparing for Vinegar, which fhould be brewed or made of any EngHfl) or Foreign Materials, by any Perfon or Perfons whatfoever, for Sale j and fo in propor- tion for a greater or lefier Quantity, by an Aft made in the tenth Year of his Rel^n ; and likewife the further Subfidy of Tunnage and i oundage, and other Duties upon Wines, Goods, and Mer- chandizes, v/hich had been granted to his faid late Majefty King William, for his Life, by an A61: made in the ninth Year of his Reign, intituled, An ASi for granting to his Majefty a further Sulfdy^y^. 3. f. 23. of Tunnage and Poundage, towards raiftng the yearly Sum of f even hundred thoufand Pounds, for the Service of his Majejlys Houfchold, and other JJfes therein mentioned, during his Majeffs Life, and 'continued to their faid late Majefties Queen Anne and King George the Firft, for their Lives refpec- tively, fhould be levied, collefted, and paid, to his fa;d late Majefty King George the Second, for and during the Term of his natural Life ; and alfo that the yearly Sum oi one hundred and twerity thoufand Pounds, granted out of the aggregate Fund to his late Majefty King George the Firft, during his Life, by an Kd: made in the ifirft Year of his Reign, (intituled, An A^ for enlarging the "^ Geo. i. ji. i, c, ij. That the hereditary Rates and Duties of Excife upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors, which were granted to the Crown in the twelfth Year of the Reign of King Charles the Second ; and the faid Duties of Excife upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors, which had been granted to the late Queen Anne, by an Aft of the firft Year of her Reign, for her Life (fubjeft neverthelefs to the Incumbrances in that Aft mentioned) and the faid further Subfidy of Tunnage and Poundage, and other Duties thereby granted ; and the faid yearly Sum of one hundred and twenty thoufand Pounds out of the aggregate Fund j and the Revenus arifing in the General Letter Office, or Poft OHice, or Office of Poftmafter General ; and the fmall Branches of his Majefty's Revenues therein particularly defcribed or mentioned (except as is therein excepted) fhould be for the Support of his Majefty's Houfehold, and of the Honour and Dignity of the Crown, as by the faid Aft of the firft Year of his faid late Majefty's Reign (relation being thereunto had) m.ay more fully appear : And by virtue of one other Aft made in the fourth Year of the Reign of hi? laid late Majefty King; Geor^. the Second, intituled.
