- Exchequer Bills, Lottery Tickets, Certificates, Receipts, Annuity Orders, and other Orders of the
' refpective Denominations aforefaid, were made forth by and in purfuance of feveral Aits of Par-
- liament in that Behalf;' Be it therefore enacted by the Authority aforefaid, I'hat in all Cafts
where it fhall appear, by Affidavit, to be made before any or either of the Barons of the Exchequer for the Time being (who fhall interrogate the Deponent thereupon J to the Satisfaction of fuch Baron or Barons, that any fuch Exchequer Bills, or any fuch Tickets, Certificates, Receipts, Annuity Or- ders, or other Orders as aforefaid, before the firft Day of June one thoufand kven hundred and fixty- two, have been, are, or (hall be loft, burnt, or otherwife deftroyed, or that there be good Reafon .to believe the fame have been burnt, loft, or otherwife deftroyed, it fhall and may be lawful for the refpedtive Officers and Perfons appointed to iftue or make forth fuch Exchequer Bills, Tickets, Cer- tificates, Receipts, Annuity Orders, or other Orders, or to pay or difcharge the fame, or to iflue any Monies due or payable thereupon, upon producing a Certificate from any or either of the faid Barons, of fuch Affidavit made before him or them (which Affidavit the faid Barons, or any or either of them, is and are hereby authorized to take ; and which Certificate he or they is or are hereby required to make and grant, without Fee or Reward) ; and on Security given to the faid refpedtive Officers and Perfons to their good Liking, to indemnify them refpedively againft all other Perfons whatfoever, for or concerning the Monies ipecified in or due upon fuch reipedfive Bill or Bills, Ticket or Tickets, Certificate or Certificates, Receipt or Receipts, Order or Orders, they the faid Perfons refpe6lively {hall, and are hereby required, to make forth Duplicates of the faid Bills, Tickets, Certificates, Re- cei-pts and Orders, at the Requeft of the refpeitive Owners, and to pay, fiitisfy, and difcharge the fame, and all fuch Intereft as is or fhall be due on any of them carrying Intereft, or to make for.h Stock or transferrable Annuities in lieu of fuch Receipts, as he or they fhould have paid, fati fied, or difcharged, or made forth on the faid original BilL, Tickets, Certificates, Receipts, Annuity Or- ders, or other Orders, if the fame had been produced, and (hall be allowed all fuch Payments, Sum or Sums of Money, in their rcfpe6tive Accounts ; and in all Cafes where the Signing of the Com- miffioners of his Majefty's Treafury, or the Lord HighTreafurer of Great Britain lor the Time being, fhall be necefl'ary for making the faid Duplicates, or any of them, eftecSlual for the Purpolts aforefaid, it fhall and may be lawful to and for the faid Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury, or any three or more of them, or the Lord High Treafurer for the Time being, to fign fuch Dupli- cates accordingly. - IL And whereas it is intended that every Contributor to the faid twelve millions fhall, for every-
one hundred Pounds contributed, be intitled to an Annuity, transferrable at the Bank of England,. after the Rate of four Pounds />frC^«^KW/)^ry^««ttw, for nineteen Years, and then to ftand reduced to three Pounds per Cent m per Annum, redeemable by Parliament ; and alfo to an Annuity, tranf- ferrable at the Bank of £tt^/««^, of one Pound per Centum per Jnnum, to continue irredeemable for a certain Term of ninety-eight Years, and then to ceafe j and that every fuch Contributor fhall, for every Sum of eighty Pounds per Centum paid in to the Cafhiers of the Bank of England, upon account of his Share in the faid Annuities, after the Rate of four Pounds per Centum per Jnnum^ * be intitled to one hundred Pounds Capital in the faid Stock of four Pounds per Centum Annuities ; 4 "■ * atvi
