' Majefty was explained and amended, and feveral further rrovifions and Regulations wereeltabliihcd ' to continue during the War with France;' Be it therefore enabled by the Authority aforefaid That the feveral Regulations and Provifions refpc6ting the Grant of CommifTions or Letters of Marque, the Perfons acting, and the Captures made, under the Authority of fuch CommiiTions or Letters of Marque, aixl all other Clayfes, Provifoes, Matters and Things contained in the faid Adl: made in the twenty-ninth Year of the Reign of his faid lateMajefly, as the fame were explained and amended by the faid recited Acl of the thirty-fecond Year of his faid late Majefly's Reign ; and alfo all Claufes, Provifoes, Matters and Things contained in the faid laft-mentioned Ait of the thirty- fecond Year of the Reign of his faid late Majefty, fhall extend, and be conftrued and deemed to ex- tend, to the Grant of CommiiTions or Letters of Marque to the Perfons ailing, and the Captures made, under the Authority of fuch CommifTions or Letters of Marque, and all other Matters or Things whatfoever in refpecl of the fame, during the Continuance of the prefent War with Spain, as fully, amply, and efiectually, to all Intents and Purpofes, as if the Ame Regulations, Provifions, Claufes, Provifoes, Matters and Things had been particularly repeated and re-enacted in this Aa. XVIL An Aft for Relief of the Vaffals of the feveral Eftates which are or may be annexed to the Crown, by virtue of an Act pafTed in the twenty-fifth Year of the Reign of his late Majefty, and for carrying the Purpofes of the faid Aft more effectually into Exe- cution ; and for enforcing and carrying into Execution fo much of an Ad, paffed in the firft Year of the Reign of his prefent Majefty, as relates to the paying and dif- charging the Wadfetts affecting the Eftate of Lovat. WHEREAS by an A£l made in the twenty-fifth Year of the Reign of his late Majefty King George the Second, intituled, Jn J^ for annexing certain forfeited Eflates in Scotland /o //^i.' Crown unalienahly ; and for ?naking Satisfa£lion to the lawful Creditors thereupon ; and to efiablijh a Method for managing the fame; and applying the Keyits and Profits thereof for the better civilizing and imprcving the Highlands of Scotland, and preventing Diforders therefor the future-, it is, among other Things, enadted. That the Lands and Heretages which became forfeitedTto his late Majefty by the Attainder of Si7Kon late Lord Lovat ; John Drummond, taking upon himfelf the Stile or Title of Lord fohn Drummond, Brother to fa?nes Drmmnond, taking upon himfelf the Title of Duke of Perth ; George late Earl of Cromarty ; and Archibald Mac Donald, Son of Coll Mac Donald of Barrif- dale; and alfo the Barony of Strowan; and all other Lands and Hereditaments which formerly belonged to Alexander Robcrtfon of Strowan, and became forfeited to the Crown, by Decree or Sen- tence'of Forfeiture pafTed in the Parliament of Scotland in the Year one thoufand fix hundred and ninety^ fhall, from and after the twenty-fifth Day of Dcceinbcr one thoufand {cynn hundred and fifty-two, be annexed to the Imperial Crown of this Realm, and fhall be and remain for ever un- alienable from the fame; and it is thereby enaifed. That it fhall be lawful to and for his Majcffy, his Heirs and Succeflbrs, by Commiffion under the Privy Seal of Scotland, to authorize and impower* fuch Perfon or Perfons as his Majefty, his Heirs and Succefi'ors fhall think fit, from Time to Time, to be Commiflioners and Truftees for managing the faid Kftates, and applying the Produce thereof for the Ends and Purpofes appointed by theYaid Act : And whereas his late Majefty, by his Commiffion dated the twentieth oi March one thoufand fcven hundred and fifty-five, did authorize and impower the Perfons therein mentioned to be l>uftces and Commiffioners for managing the faid annexed Eftates j and which Commiffion was paflcd under the Privy Seal oi' Scotland the tenth Day oi May in the faid Year one thoufand feven hundred and fifty-five ; and his prefent Majefty, by his Commiffion dated the twenty- ifth Day of July in the Year one thoufand feven hundred and fixty-one, did alfo authorize and impov/er the Perfons therein named to be Truftees and Commif- fioners for managing the laid annexed Eftates; and which Commiffion alfo was paflld under the Privy Seal o( Scotland upon the third Day oi Augu/l in the faid Year one thoufiuid kvcn hundred and fixty-one : And whereas there are many fmalj Vaflals, who, before the Forfeiture of the fiiid Eft<rtcs, held their Lands and other Heretages of the aforefaid attainted Perfons and their Prede- celibrs rcfpedtivcly, and who now hold the fame of his Majtfty, his Heirs and Succeilbrs : And whereas it would be a very grievous Burden upon the faid Vaflals to make up the Titles and Infcoft- aicnts of their feveral Lands, by Precepts from the Chancny, or by Charters under the Great Seal
