price in hand of the foolish to get wisdom.

"Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?"

Prov. xvii. 16.

Wisdom is a gem of inestimable value. Nothing so strongly marks the superiority of one class of men above another, than their pre-eminence in wisdom. For the various arts of civilized life, the innumerable comforts and conveniences we enjoy, to which the native children of the forest are entire strangers; we are indebted to the operations of superior wisdom.
