truths, like suns, stir not, though many planets revolve around them. Venerate, then. O my soul! this one God of heaven and earth; for he is thy Father, Creator, Redeemer, and Friend. Worship thou Him, for he is the All-in-all of thy life and being.


February Twenty-fifth.

THE HOLY TRINITY.

"I and my Father are one."John x. 30.

THERE is nothing more clearly revealed in the Bible, than that there is but One Divine Personal Being. In connexion with this, is as clearly revealed, a Divine Trinity IN the one Jehovah, God. What the Lord has in mercy revealed, we may, with out incurring the charge of presumption or impiety, humbly contemplate with reverence of mind.

Come, then, my soul! look thou only to Jesus, the manifested God, and he shall teach thee, and fill thee with the light of life.

When the mind, in profound humility, ventures to contemplate God, it soon discovers in Deity three essential realities which involve all other things—all that can be loved, seen, or thought of. These, which are Love, Wisdom and Operative Life, make up, so to speak, the Divine fulness of God, and are described as dwelling bodily in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Coloss. ii. 9.) Love, the source of all creation, is named Father; Wisdom is the means by which all things were produced or brought into being, and is called the Son, the Only-begotten, the Word that was in the beginning with God, and was God; and Opera-
