less a blessing of the highest order. All fear of their eternal safety is instantly banished by the divine statement which declares them to be the inheritance of the Lord. O parents! while you indulge in sorrow on account of the departure of your infant darlings, remember that your grief will be put to the account of your own loss, and not to their gain; for heaven, with all its joys, is, without any reference to parents, whether godly or ungodly, the inheritance of all departed infants; they being the heritage of the Lord. Now, as children are Jehovah's heritage, it is reasonable to suppose that He who feeds the ravens when they cry, and suffers not a sparrow to fall without his knowledge, will take care of his own heritage; nothing but ignorance and hardness of heart can doubt here. When infants die, angels unseen to mortal eyes are near, waiting, as it were, the Lord's time, to convey them from this world of change, trouble and doubt to that spiritual world where all is substance, and where life is everlasting! There the guardian angels of the dear innocents, as tender nursing mothers, lead and instruct the opening but infantile soul, in all that is good, wise and holy, and thus form and mould progressively the mind into the order of heaven, impressing upon the inner life all that is angelic and pure. The Lord God of heaven has insured the eternal safety of children; for he cannot, for the want of adequate means, be deprived of His inheritance. Yes, the young immortal that only budded here, shall blossom in richness and beauty in eternity. Bodily death to infants is but the appointed method that lifts them from the dust and rears them into men—into angels, the Lord's inheritance! It is true, the death of infants
