Jehovah, the Omnipresent One, the Sun of Righteousness, is the Everlasting Light of its blessed inhabitants! There the joys of the children of the kingdom are infinitely varied! ever changing, ever fresh, and always new! The worship and praise of God, the universal Giver of all good, must be to the angels of heaven a joy and refreshment beyond the power of man fully to describe; it must be as the first flowings of the heart clothed in the speech of sincerity and wisdom, and which must yield to each a fulness of pleasure. Again,—the joys arising from angelic association, must be both numerous and varied, because from this arise all the delights of mutual love and charity—charity being the delight of imparting to others of its own pleasures. Thus, there is in such associations a mutual commerce in, and an exchange of celestial goods—a kind of spiritual trading in a good and honest land. Here are no jarring or selfish interests; but each feels a pleasure when he can add to the happiness of another: in fact, every angel feels the luxury of doing good. Add to this the external beauty of heaven! its outward scenes corresponding to the inward states of the purity and wisdom of its inhabitants, and we behold a world where all is peace and joy—an eternal spring—a world illuminated by a sun that never sets. It is a celestial paradise with its tree of life, its "never withering flowers," its "sweet fields," that ever "stand drest in living green!" all which proclaim that here peace is everlasting, and the joys thereof infinitely varied and complete. Lay up for thyself, O Christian, these heavenly treasures in thy heart, and thou shalt finally dwell and get possessions in that happy land.
