V. Manufactures.
Though the country lacks coal and is dependent entirely on imported supplies, it possesses an enormous amount of water power, which produces notive power for manufacturing industry. The chief manufacturing use of this power his been for the production of electrochemical products, which is jecoming a more and more important Norwegian industry. The principal jroducts are ammonium nitrate, calcium nitrate, natrium nitrate, sodium nitrate, calcium carbide, and ferrosilicon.
