various minds to receive and use them. Therefore He created, creates and will always be creating human minds, to be regenerated differently, to constitute distinct and diverse recipients and re-agents of the infinite things of his love and wisdom, and all by their relations to love and wisdom bearing definite human relations to each other. Out of this variety heaven is perfected, and is ever advancing into a more complete and gloriously perfect man.

The subject of Divine Providence, therefore, is man; its end salvation, or heavenly health and happiness for man; and its means are those by which man is perfected as to understanding and will, or the divine truth and order impressed upon the constitution of his two-fold nature and the two-fold universe in which he realizes his life.

As creation and influx is by and in accordance with the correspondence of natural things with spiritual, and of spiritual things with the Divine, so the revelation of divine truth is given by Correspondence. "That there might be conjunction of heaven with man, the Word was written by pure Correspondences; for all and each of the things which are there, correspond. And so, if a man were in
