O'er cowslips tipt with balmy dew,
With Jockie to the fair.
O'er cowslips tipt, &c.

In raptures meet the joyful throng
Their gay companions blythe & young,
Each joins the dance each joins the song
To hail the happy pair.
In turns there's none so fond as they,
They bless the kind propitious day,
The smiling morn of blooming May,
When lovely Jenny ran away
With Jockie to the fair.
When lovely Jenny, &c.

THE BRAES OF YARROW.

Busk ye, busk ye, my bonnie bride,
Busk ye, busk ye, my winsome marrow;
Busk ye, busk ye, my bonnie bride,
And let us to the braes of Yarrow.
There will we sport and gather dew,
Dancing while lay'rocks sing in the morning;
There learn frae turtles to prove true,
O Bell, ne'er vex me with thy scorning.
