therewith and he who is guiltless of sin and reproach feareth not the issue of his affair. And I, O king, am free from guilt, wherefore I trust in God that He will show forth the truth and vouchsafe me the victory over enemies and enviers.”


When the king heard this, his wrath subsided and he said, “Carry him back to the prison till the morrow, so we may look into his affair.”
