fication, seek to indulge themselves by plausible reasons which bear the appearance of truth. O help us to keep down these promptings to impure gratification, which, though they appear innocent and assume the external guise of simplicity, are but false prophets in sheep's clothing. May we never walk in the counsel of these ungodly lusts: remembering that if we walk contrary to Thee, and refuse to hearken unto Thee, Thou wilt also walk contrary to us.[1] But if we love Thee, our only God and Saviour, and walk in all Thy ways, and cleave unto Thee,[2] then Thou wilt deliver our souls from death, our eyes from tears, and our feet from failing, and we shall walk before Thee in the light of the living.

For all the blessings we have this day enjoyed, O Lord, we humbly offer our united thanksgivings, and now that we are again about to seek repose, we implore Thy protection through the silent watches of the night. Keep us in freedom, we beseech Thee, from the assaults of our spiritual enemies, and suffer us again to rise with renovated spirits, to enter on the duties of another day. {{gap|.7em} Amen.

SATURDAY MORNING.

LORD Jesus Christ, we pray that we may not be weary in well-doing. Give unto us persevering spirits, that we may strive to enter in at the strait gate. Help us to strive against our corruptions within and our enemies without, so that our principal labour may be to qualify ourselves for the glorious inheritance laid up in store for us.

Help us to keep self in subjection. The relation with our fellow-men in which Thou hast placed us, requires that we should pray, not for ourselves alone, but for all our fellow-creatures. Send forth the righteous dispensations of Thy providence, that immorality may no longer prevent the establishment of Thy kingdom within the soul. Let godliness universally prevail, and let brotherly love be more and more extended. Let the Word of Thy truth find heralds to proclaim it from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, until all the nations are made acquainted with the glorious sound of the gospel, and every family be brought to acknowledge that "The Lord He is the God; the Lord He is the God." Hasten the glorious day, O Lord our strength and our Redeemer. Amen.

SATURDAY EVENING. ORD, we beseech Thee, enlighten our understandings by the truths of Thy holy Word, aud mould our hearts into the form of Thy perfect Jove.
