With this prayer of willing duty. O Lord, we now go forth to the labour which devolves upon as in the world. We pray to be preserved from sin; may we set Thee continually before our eyes. In all our pursuits, while we remember that Thou God seest us, may we not only pursue our path with integrity, because Thine ere resteth upon us, but may we do our duty from love to Theo, frou a love of purity arid holiness, from a love of our neighbour and of usefulness. May Thy blessing rest upon our labour. When we go forth. Lord, be with us. When we return, let us feel Thy presence. In our labour, let strength from Thee animate us; in difficulty, let our reason and intelligence be qnickened by Thy wisdom; in danger, preserve us by by omnipotent power, and may we at all times find Thee a very present help. We know not how soon we may be culled into Thine immediate presence; may we therefore, be so guided by Thy good Spirit, that when the time shall come that we are called upon to leave the body, we may, with humble confidence, resign our spirits into Thy hands. MONDAY EVENING.
O LORD Jesus Christ. Thou art the bread of life. Lord, we beseech Thee feed us with this bread! 'He that believeth on Thee, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." Lord! give us to drink of the streams of Thy truth. As the hart parteth for the water-brooks, so may our souls thirst after Thee. O God, and for whatever has a tendency to show forth Thy goodness to Thy creatures, the work of Thy hands; and may we, and all the creatures Thou hast made, be led to perceive Thy loving-kindness—yea, let the people praise Thee. O God, let all the people praise Thee, for Thy name alone is excellent. O hasten the period when men shall see Thee as Thou art, the only wise God our Saviour; when men shall adore and magnify Thee, as "God with us;" when all the benefits and blessings of the redemption shall take firm hold of the affections, and lead to a devout and holy gratitude for the great work which Thou hast accomplished; when men shall come from the east and from the west, prepared to acknowledge Thy divine sovereignty, till from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same. Thy name alone shall be magnified and adored, as the true God and everlasting life. Amen. Our Father, etc.
TUESDAY MORNING.
O LORD Jesus Christ, we confess our sins are ever before us. Blot out, as a thick cloud, our evils of heart and life. Help us to arise from the debasing state in which we have placed ourselves; help us to be obedient to Thy gracious call, and with repenting hearts turn us unto Thee. May we while there is time avail ourselves of Thy condescending goodness.
From Thee may we learn how much better it is to give than to receive! Thou, O Lord Jesus Christ, didst appear meek and lowly before men; instruct us in that true poverty of spirit which seeks rather the
