to be sacred to Thine abode. Sensual delights, the pleaaures of the world, oscupy our thonghts and affections, and Thou art still without, still knockin for admission, still exclaiming, "My son, give me thy heart."
Thou knowest the sin which doth most easily beset us, the habit which we are most tempted to indulge. Save us, O Lord, we beseech Thee. Without Thee we oan do nothing. All our sufficiency is of Thee. O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! For Thine own sake, O my God. Amen.

TUESDAY EVENING.
OMNIPOTENT, omnipresent, and omniscient Lord, with humble adoration enable us to approach this evening, and to worship Thee, who art a Spirit, in spirit and in truth. With unfeigned gratitude we desire to acknowledge the mercies of another day. By Thy divine power have we been encircled; Thy ever-present aid has supplied ail our necessities, and endowed us with many temporal comforts; Thine eye has watched over us, and preserved us amidst many unseen dangers; and Thou hast again enabled us to unite in family worship, safe under the roof of our comfortable habitation. O that our hearts may be filled with gratitude, and our tongues with praise and thanksgiving! may our cheerful songs respond to the truth, "Hitherto the Lord has helped us."
Lord, we desire to adore Thee for the many glorious truths which we have been permitted to behold in these last days. The greatest of blessings lie treasured in Thy Word of truth; there Thou revealest Thy divine perfections in language adapted to the states of all Thy creatures; there are we led to behold the bright realities of the glorious spirit-world, and instructed in the duties which shall prepare us for inhabiting one of its happy mansions in Thy heavenly kingdom. Amen.

WEDNESDAY MORNING.
O LORD, most merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and of great goodness, we humbly approach Thee this morning, which ushers in a new day of our existence, and brings us again into the field of our various duties, the first and most important of which is to address ourselves to Thee, in whom alone we live and move and have our being. Accept, Lord, our unfeigned thanks for the mercies of another night, for the refreshing sleep we have enjoyed, and for the renewed strength with which Thou hast endowed us. O continue unto us throughout the day Thy divine protection and blessing, for without Thee we can do nothing.
We desire to acknowledge Thy goodness in bestowing upon us the most inestimable gift of Thy holy Word. Every fresh perusal of it tends to convince us of its most exalted wisdom, and to place before us the truth that Thou art indeed present within the letter, and of its spirit and life Thou waitest to make all partakers who humbly seek it. Never may we approach it in a careless or lukewarm spirit, but may its sacred truths quicken within the soul that true zeal which shall make us fervent
