refreshing sleep. Or if Thou permittest a state of wakefulness, may our meditation of Thee be sweet. May we commune with our own hearts, and think of all Thy deeds of love, and glorify Thee silently aa we rest upon our bed. FORTY-SIXTH WEEK.—SABBATH MORNING.

ALL-merciful and glorified Lord! we adore Thee, we worship toward Thy holy temple, we magnify Thy high and holy name for permitting us again to behold the light of another Sabbath. Let the people praise Thee, O God, yea, let all the people praise Thee. O may this day be a day of rejoicing to all the families of the earth, and may the people say continually, The Lord be praised.

Lord, pour upon us the spirit of supplication, and inspire us with thoughts to ask such things only as may best advance our true spiritual interests, and secure for us a residence in one of those mansions which Thou hast prepared for those that love Thee. We pray that Thy love may be shed abroad in all our hearts; for it is by this alone that we can hope to be enabled to accomplish all that is required of us. It is Thy love which enkindles pure devotion, Thy love which makes us view our brethren with kind and affectionate feelings, and Thy love alone which enables us to bear each others' burthens. May thy love, therefore, be the animating spring of our existence. As our duties commence at our family altar, may those duties be performed with a single eye and a pure heart, and may the Word we have read prepare us for the Word read in Thy Church. Amen.
