The obverse shows a bundle of arrows tied together by a laurel wreath, and the levend: 'Einigkeit macht stark, Vaterlands-Liebe uniiberwindlich? (Union makes strength, and patriotism invincibility). The reverse contains the inscription: 'Den freiwilligen Vaterlandsvertheidigern des 5. Deutschen Armee corps, von ihrem commandirenden General E. H. z. S.' (To the voluntary defenders of the Fatherland, from their commanding General of the 5th German army corps). (No. 8).
