SUGAR COOKIES 1 cup sugar 2/3 (I use butter and lard mixed) cup butter 1/2 milk egg 1 teaspoon soda 1/2 C. Tartar 4 cups flour pinch salt vanilla. Fill pan with cookies rolled thin, then place about a teaspoonful of filling in center of each, and cover with another layer "pat edges together a bit."
