Brown, vicar-general of the diocese of Southwark. Education: The College, Brighton; Glasgow Tech- nical College; studied engineering at Dundee and Glasgow (Fairfield Company). Chief assistant to a firm of civil engineers (5 years); Lieutenant Royal Engineers (Vol.) Submarine Miners 1895-1900; partner in the firm of HilUer and Company, Engineers and Shipbuilders, Romsey; on the staff of "The Catholic Encyclopedia", New York, 1908-1912; engaged in engineering work, Newport News, Virginia, 1912- .
