She was b. 21 March 1857. [George Herbert Hyde Villiers, styled Lord Hyde, 1st s. and li. ap., b. 1 June 1877, at No. 31, Upper Brooke street, Midx.] Family Estates. — These, in 1883, consisted of 2,298 acres in Herts and Warwickshire worth .£3,741 a year. "Eyre Massey, Esq., General of His Majesty's 1 lfiOf) Forces," was, 27 Dec. 1800, en BARON CLARINA OF ELM PAEE,(») co. Limerick [I.] He was br. of Hugh, 1st Baron Massy ok Duntrileaugue [I.], being 6th s. of Hugh Massy of Duntrileague, co. Limerick, by Elizabeth, da. of the Rt. Hon. George Evans. He was b. 2-1 May 1719, and, having entered the army, was wounded at the battle of Culloden (1746); served under Gen. Wolfe in America, was at the head of the Grenadiers at the taking of Havaunah (where he was again wounded) was at Niagara, and at the taking of Mar- tinique, &c. ; Gen. in the Army ; Col. of the 27th or Enniskilleu Reg., and Marshal of the Army in Ireland ; M.P. for Swords, 1790-97, and, having been in active service fur above 60 years, was in 1S00 raised to the Peerage as above. He m. 27 Dec. 1767, Catherine, sister of Robert, 1st Earl ok Lkitrim [I.], da. of the Rt Hon. Nathaniel Clements, by Hannah, da. of William Gore, Dean of Down. He d. at Bath, Somerset, 17 May 1804. Will pr. June 1804. His widow d. 27 Jany. 1815. II. lSOi. £ Nathaniel Willlam (Massey), Baron Clarina ok Elm Park [I.], 2nd but only surv. s. and h., b. 23 May 1773. He also was in the military service, and became a Major-Gen. in the Army. He m. 29 May 179C, Penelope, 2nd da. of Michael Roberts Westroff. He d. at Barbadoes, Jany. 1810. His widow d. 26 Nov. 1843. III. 1810. 3. Eyre (Massey), Bakon Clarina of Elm Park [1.], s. and h., 6. 6 May 1798, at Cork ; mat at Oxford (Ch. Ch.), 30 Jany. 1S16 ; B.A., 20 Feb. 1819. Rep. Peer [I.], 1849-72. He m. 9 Sep. 1828, at Battle, Sussex, Susan Elizabeth, yst. da. of Hugh Barton, of Straffan, co. Kildare. He d. 18 Nov. 1872, aged 74, at Elm Park. His widow d. there, 14 Nov. 1886, in her 77tk year. Personalty above £10,000. IV. 1872. 4. Eyre Challoner Henry (Massey), Baeon Clarina ok Elm Park [I], s. and h., 6. 29 April 1830, in Baker Street, Maryle- bone, entered the Army, 1847 ; Major 9oth Foot, 1857 ; Lieut-Col., 1858 ; Brevet-Col., 1865 ; Lieut-CoL 97th Foot, 1873 ; retired on half-pay, 1874 ; Major-Gen. on Staff and Commander of the troops in the Dublin district, 1881 ; Lieut-Gen. 1885 ; Knight of the Legion of Honour in France ; Medjidie, 1856 ; C.B., 1887 ; medal and clasp for Sebastapol, as also for the Indian Mutiny campaign. Family estates. — These, in 1883, consisted of 2,012 acres in co. Limerick, worth £2,497 a year. Principal Residence. — Elm Park, co. Limerick. ( :l ) This was one of the 9 Peerages conferred on Commoners on tho last day of such creations before the Irish Union, in addition to 17 others which had been thus con- ferred the same year ; a total increase of 26 members of the Irish House of Lords within twelve muuths.
