He petitioned for a share of the estates of the Valletort family, hia father having, the year before Ue died (27 Ed. I), been found coheir to Roger de Valletort. His signature as " Tt.fr Corbet, D'n's de Cauz " is to the famous letter of the Hanms t« the Pope in 1301. (*) He was sum. to Pari, as a Barou 13 Sep. 1302 to 14 March 1321/2. He m. before (31 Ed. I) 1302, Beatrix, who was living 1318. He d. s.p. (1321-22) 15 Ed. II. III. 1322, 3. John (Corbet), Lord Corbet, br. and h., then to aged 24 years. He was never sum. to Pari., and d. s.p. (21 Ed. Ill) 1347. 1S47, when, the issue of his father having failed, the Barony became cxtinct.{*>) COKBET OF LINCHLADE. Viscountcy. Dame Sarah Corbet, widow, of Linchlade, alias Linslado, 1 1G70 Bucks, relict of Sir Andrew Corbet, Bart., was, 23 Oct. 1679, cr. a to ' ' Peeress for life, as VISCOUNTESS COUBET OF LINCHLADE, co. 1 fiJO Buckingham; She was tthda. and coheir of Sir Robert Monson, of 100 -' South Carlton, co. Lincoln ; was b. about 1624 ; m., before 1642, Sir Andrew Corbet afsd,, who was cr. a Baronet as "of Moreton Corbet, Salop," 29 Jan. 1642, in reward for his devoted loyalty, and who d. 28 Dee. 1656, aged 40. She m. secondly (2 months after her creation), 18 Dec. 1679, at Stoke Newington, Midx. (mar. lie. from Vic. Gen.), Sir Charles Lee, of Bittesley, co. Warwick, then aged 5S, and a widower, who was bur. at Edmonton, Midx., 18 Oct. 1700. Will pr. same month. She d. 5 and was bw. 10 June 1682, at Edmonton afsd., when the life peerage became extinct.^) Admon. 30 June 16S2, 11 July 1682, and 7 Nov. 1709. CORK (County of). EARL OF RUTLAND 25 Feb. 1389/90, was, at some period , .?_ before 12 Aug. 1396 (in a patent of which date he is called " Comes 1 11 ;) • Rutland et de Gark," &c). Br. EARL OF CORK [I.] On 29 Sep. 1397 he was cr. DUKE OF ALBEMARLE, of which dignity, however, he was deprived 6 Oct. 1399. On 1 Aug. 1402 he sue. his father as DUKE OF YORK, &c. He d. s.p.
