He was one of the four nobles who sup- ported the canopy at the second coronation of Richard I. at Winchester, 17 April 1101 ami appears to have been a faithful adherent to King John. He m. Mabel, da. of Robert, Count ok Meulan or Mellent. He d. 14 Sept, 1216 and was bur. at Tiverton. [Baldwin de Redvers, s. and b. ap. He m. Margaret, da. and h. of Warine Fitz-Gerald, and d. v. p. 1 Sep. 1216, and was bur. at Christ Church. His widow in. the notorious Fulke DE Breaute, who was banished 1 221 and who d. at St. Cyriac 1226. She d, at a very advanced age in (1202), 20 Ed. I. She was Sim in Grey Friars, London. M.L( d )] VII. 121G. 7. Baldwin (de Redvers), Earl of Devon, or of Exeter, Lord of the Isle of Wight, grandson and h., being s. and h. of Baldwin de Redvers and Margaret, his wife, above named. His guardianship was first given to his step-father, Fulke de Breaute (to whom by writ 10 June 1210, the Sheriff was directed to pay the third penny of the county of Devon), and afterwards to Richard, Earl of Cornwall. He was knighted and invested with the Lordship of the Isle of Wight, 25 Dec. 1210, at Winchester. He m. in 1227 in early youth Amicia, da. of Gilbert (de Clark), Earl ok Gloucester mid Hertford (for which that Earl paid 2,000 marks to the King) by Isabel, da. of William (Marshall), Earl ok Pemeroke, Ho d. in the prime of life, 15 Feb. (J24J/5), 20 Hen. Ill, and was bur. at the priory of Brameie, Hants. His widow, who retaiued the Lordship of the Isle of Wight iu dower, Hi. iu 1218 Robert Gynes and survived till (1283), 12 Ed. I, when she was sue. in that Lordship by her' granddaughter, then her heir, as below. ( a ) There is no proof that " Lucia Comitissa" said to he Lucy, da. of Dru de Rnhm was his wife.
