Elizabeth, widow of Sir John RaTcuffk, KG., (who d. 1411) da. and h. of Walter (Fitzwalter,) Lord Fit/.walter. He </. s.p. legit. (*) 28, and was bur, 30 Jan. 1508/0, in the Grey Friars, London. Will dat. 7 Jany. 1505, pr. 4 May 1509. At his death, says Nicolas, " the Barony is presumed to have become extinct, for as uo writ of summons was issued for so mauy generations between, his ancestor, who was sum. in 23 Ed. I., and this Baron, the writ [of lllid] to him, in all probability, was deemed a creation dc novo, descendible to the heirs of his body only; whatever claim exists, however, to the Manny rr. by the uril vf 23 id. I. is now vested in the descendants and representatives of the sisters and coheirs (•) of Jolni, the last Baron;" and, consequently [if the writ of 1295 constituted a heritable dignity] is in abeyance. Lord Dinham 's wife was living at the date of his will. DINEVOR. Bavony. 1. "William (Talbot), Baeok Talbot of HensoL, co. I 1/80 Glamorgan, sue. his Father in that dignity, as 2d Baron, 14 Feb. 1737, and was rr. 29 March 1761, Eaiil Taliiot, with the usual remainder. Having, however, no male issue, he was er. 17 Oct. 1780, BAKUN DINEYORof Diuevor, co. Carmarthen, for life, with a spec. rem. in favour of his only child Cecil Hice, widow and the hens male of her body. He d. s.p.m. 27 April 1782, when the Earldom became extinct. July 1735 in St. Giles in the Fields, m. 16 Aug. 1756, at Peudoyton, co. Glamorgan, George Rice, of Newton, co. Carmarthen, M.P. (1754-79) and Lord Lieut, of that county, who d. 3 Aug 1779 and was bur. at Llandiloe, co. Carmarthen. She, under the will of her said mother, took by royal lie. 21 May 1787, the surname of De Cakdoun-el only. She d. 11 March 1793 and was bur. at Llandiloe afsd. Will pr. March 1793. III. 1793, 3. George-Talbot (Rice, afterwards De Cardoxnel, and finally Hioe), Baron Dinevor, b. and h., b. 8 Octandiup. 1 Nov. 1765 at St. Geo., Han. Sq. Matric. at Oxford (Ch. Ch.), 1 Feb. 1783 ; er. M.A. 30 May 1786 ; by royal lie, 30 April 1793, he took the name of Dc Vardonncl, and by auothcr royal lie, 4 Feb. 1817, resumed his patronymic of Jiice. He was M.P. for co. Carmarthen 1790-93 ; Lord Lieut, of that county, and Col. of the Militia. He m. in Grosvenor Sq. (St. Geo., Han. Sq.) 20 Oct. 1794, Frances, 3d da. of Thomas (Townshend), 1st Viscount Sydney of St. Leonard's, by Elizabeth, da. of Richard (») There is proof in the rolls of Pari., of his sitting. ( b ) In a will dat. 10 July (1470) 10 Ed. IV. he mentions a son : indeed he is said to have had two sons and 4 daughters. " George, son of John, Lord Dynham," {d. 1487, bur. at Lambeth) aud Sir Thomas Dynham, Kut., son and heir of Johu, Lord Dynham " are mentioned. See Banks " Bar. Awjl. cone." vol. i, p. 196, but it is supposed such issue was illegitimate. ( c ) These were (1; Elizabeth, widow of Fulke (Bourchier) Lord Fitzwarino (who d. 1479) whose coheirs are the same as those of that Barony. (2) Joan, wife of John, Lord Zoucho (1168-1526) ancestress of the succeeding Lords. (3) Sir Edmund Carew of Mohuns Ottery. s. and h. of Margaret, wife of Sir John Carew; and (4) Sir John Aruudell of Lauherne, s. and h. of Catherine, wife of Sir Thomas A., and ancestor of the Arundells of Lauherne and of the Lord Aruudell of Wardour.
