He was b. at Straugways, 28 March, and was bap. 25 jane 1739, at Manchester; was an officer in the Royal Navy, and finally, 1762, Post Captain; M.P. for Lancaster, 17S4-S5 and clerk of the Crown for that county. By act of Pari. 1786 he took the name and anus of Moreton. He m. firstly, 10 Oct. 1771, at St. Geo. Han. sq., Mary, da. and coheir of Thomas Provis of Charlton, near Shepton Mallet, Somerset. She d. May 1789. He m. secondly, 18 June 1791, at St. Geo. Han. sq., Sarah, widow of Robert Child of Osterley Park, Midx., da. of Paul JoDkkll, but by her he had no issue. She tf. 23 May 1793. Will pr.
