She, who waB 6. 21 July 1835, d. 21 Jany. 1871, at Lambton Castle. He d. 27 Nov. 1879, aged 51, in Hill street, Midx. III. 1879. 8. John George (Lambton), Earl of Durham [1833], Viscount Lambton [1S33], and Baron Durham op the City op Durham and of Lambton Castle [1828], s. and h., b. 19 June 1855, in Park street, Grosvenor sq., Midx. ; styled Viscount Lambton till 1879 ; ed. at Eton ; sometime, 1S74-79, an officer in the Coldstream Guards ; Lord Lieut, of co. Durham. He m. 28 Oct. 1882, at St. Peter's, Eatou square, Ethel Elizabeth Louisa (then aged 20), 2d da. of Henry Beilby William Milner, of West Retford House, Notts, by Charlotte Henrietta, da. of MarcuB Gervais Bereskord, Archbishop of Armagh. He instituted a suit for the nullity of this marriage (on ground of insanity) which was dismissed (with costs) 10 March 1886. Family Estates. — These, in 1S83, consisted of 15,807 acres in Northumberland and of 14,664 co. Durham, these last, owing to the coal mines thereon, being worth about £64,000 a year.
