He joined in the rebellion against the King by whom he was made prisoner at Boroughbridge lfi March 1322, and fined 400 marks, ne d. (1341), 15 Ed. III. I. 1341, 2. Adam (Everingham), Lord Everixgham, s. and h., to aged 30 in 1341 at his father's death. He was in the French wars 1379. and was at the battle of Cressy, 28 Aug. 1346, but was not sum. to Pari, till 8 Jany. (1370/1), 44 Ed. III., when he received a writ directed " Ada de Everingham. de Laxton [LORD EVERINGHAM DE LAXTON.] He m. Joan, da. of John Deyyille. Herf. s.p.m.s. 8 Feb. (1378/9),2 Ric. II. when the Barony fell into abojancc.( h ) ( a ) Dugdale makes him to be a brother of this Robert, whose ago of 24, in 9 Ed. I, shews him to have been b. circa 1257, while Adam must have been b. circa 12S0. Banks in his " Uaronia AngL" makes Adam s. and h. of Robert, as in the text. ( b ) The coheirs were his two grandaughters Joane, aged 25, and Catharine, aged 23, at the time of their grandfather's death, which ladies were sisters and coheirs of Robert, who d. young, 27 Dec. 1370, and daughters of William Everingham (1st s. and h. ap. of tho last Lord) who d. v.p. 10 Aug. 1369. Of these ladies Joane in. firstly Sir William Ellys and secondly John Waterton, while Catharine m John Elton. Both left issue. See Banks' " Bar. Angl."
