She, who was b. at Haddon, co. Derby, d. 2 Dec. 1000, and was bur. 14, at St. Martin's, Stam- ford. He m. secondly 21 Jan. 1000/70, at Ashwell, Mary, widow of Francis Palmf.s, 4th da. of Mildmay (Fane), Earl of Westmorland, by his 2d wife, Mary, da. and coheir of Horatio (Verb), Baron Vere of Tilbury. He d. IS March 1077/8, at Burghley House, near Stamford and was bur. at St. Martin's afsd. Will pr. 1078. Her will pr. 1631. V. 1678. 5. Jolin (Cecil), Earl of Exeter, &c., s. and h., by first wife, b. about 1048, and styled Lord Buhgiiley, till 167S ; M.l'. for co. Northampton, 1075-73 ; Lord High Almoner at the Coronation of James II, 23 April 1085. Though he espoused the causo of the Prince of Orange in 1G88,( C 1 he declined taking the oaths of the Revolution. He m. (lie. from Bp. of Loudon, 4 May 1070 to marry at St. Mary le Savoy, he 21, Bach, she 21, widow) Anne, widow of Charles Rich, styled Lord Rich, da. of William (Cavendish), 3d Earl of Df.von- shiiie, by Elizabeth, da. of William (Cecil), 2d Earl of Salisbuhy. He d. at Issy, near Paris, 20 Aug. 1700 and was bur. 20 Oct. following, at St. Martin's, Stamford. M.L Will pr. May 1701. His widow d. 18 June 1703, and was bur. 30 at St. Martin's afsd. Her admon. 28 Jan. 1703/1, and again 4 Nov. 1707 to a creditor.
