Cavan, and VISCOUNT OF THE COUNTY OF FERMANAGH [I.] He was M.P. for Bucks, 1710-13, and for Amersham, 1713-17. He m. firstly, 27 May 16S0,() at Westm. Abbey (lie. from Vic. Gen., he "of Loudon, merchant, about 35, bach.," she " about 16 ") Elizabeth, 1st da. of Ralph Palmer, of Little Chelsea, Midx., by Alice, da. of ( — ) White. She d. 20 and was bur. 28 May 1696, at Middle Claydou. He m. secondly, 10 July 1692, also at Westm. Abbey, Mary, 1st da. of Sir Francis Lawley, 2d Bart., of Spoonbill, by Anne, da. of Sir Thomas WniTMORE, 1st Bart., of Apley. She d. 21 Aug. and was bur. 5 Sep. 1691, at Middle Claydon, aged 33. He m, thirdly, 8 April 1696, at Kensington, Elizabeth, da. of Daniel Baker, of Penn House, Bucks, Alderman of Loudon. He d. 23 and was bur. 28 July 1717, at Middle Claydon in his 76th year. Will dat. 23 June 1713, pr. 31 July 1717. His widow d. s.p. 12 Dec. 1736, and was bur. at Hertford Her admou. 7 Jan. 1736/7. (») The following notice of him is given in " Courthope," where it is apparently considered that a Barony was theieby created. " William de Felton, first cousin of the last Baron, but not his heir, being s. and h. of William de Felton, br. of Robert his father, was sum. to Pari. 25 Feb., 16 Edw. III., but never afterwards ; ob. 1358, leaving Sir William Felton lus s. and fa., then ret. 30, who was never sum. to Pari., nor wore any of his posterity. The said Sir William de Felton, who sue. his father in 1358, was slain in Spain 1367, leaving Sir John de Felton his s. and fa., then sot. 28, who died 31 Mar. 1396, leaving by his 1st wife two daughters, Elizabeth, let. 15 in 1396, but who died s.p., and Joan, ait. 13 in 1396. By his 2nd wife he had a son, Sir John Felton, ret. 10 in 1396, but who died s.p. 1402, when John, the son of Walter Falconberg, by Joan his wife, sister of John Felton his father, and who was then let. 30, was found to bo his heir of the whole blood, and Elizabeth his father's da., by his 1st wife, and then wife of Sir Edmund Hastings, was found to be his heir of the half blood, then rot. 23 years ; she left issue Sir John Hastings, father of Sir Edmund father of Sir Roger, rot. 26 in 1489, and amongst his descendants this Barony is in °*(^) "f his was the first appearance of the rank of Viscount in Scotland and, inasmuch as it is still existing, it is, of course, the Premier Viscounicij of that kingdom.
