Water- ' ford [I.] He was 3d s. of Marcus, 1st Eahl of Tyrone [1.], by Catharine, stto jure,(") Baroness La Pokb [I.], da. and h. of James (Power). 3d Earl ok Tyrone and Viscount Decies [I.] of the creation of 1678, above named. He was 6. 16 April 1743 ; ed. at Trin. Coll., Dublin; B.A., 1763; M.A., 1766 ; D.D., 1780. Rector of Urney, co. Derry ; Bishop of Dromore, 1780 ; Bishop of Ossory, 1782; Archbishop of Tuam, 1794. On 21 Dec. 1812, he was raised to the Peerage as afsd. He m. It! June 1763, at Donnybrook, co. Dublin, Elizabeth, sister of John, 1st Earl of Clare [I.], 2d da. of John Fitzgibbon of Mount Shannon, co. Limerick, by Elinor, da. of John Grove. She, by whom he had 10 sons and 6 daughters, d. 21 Aug. 1804. His Grace d. 6 Sep. 1819, at Tuam Palace, in his 77th year. II 1819. 2. John- (Horsley-Beresford), Baron Decies [I,] 4th but 1st surv. s. and h., h. 20 Jany. 1773, in Dublin ; ed. at Email. Coll., Cambridge ; B.A., 1795 ; M.A., 1809, subsequently D.D., and sometime Rector of Tuam. He m. 26 July 1810, Charlotte Philadelphia, only da. and h. of Robert Horsley of Bolam House, co. Northumberland, on which occassion he assumed the additional surname of Horslky. She d. 9 March 1852, at Ryde, in the Isle of Wight. He tf. 1 March 1865, in his 83d year. III. 1855. 3. William Rorert Sons (Horsley-Beresford), Baron Decies [I.], only s. and h., 6. June 1811, in Dublin, some- time Capt. Greu. Guards, He m. 31 July 1860, at Shorttlatt Tower, co. Northumber- land, Catharine Anne, 2d da. of William Dent Dent (formerly Hedley) of Shortflatt Tower afsd., by Ellen Mary, da. of Andrew Seton Kerr of Kippilaw, co. Roxburgh. Family Estates... These, in 1883, consisted of 6,394 acres in Northumberland; 20 in Westmorland, and 979 in co. Meath. Total 7,393 acre3, worth £7,833 a year. BARON DE DUN- (») According to the anomalous decision of the Irish House of Lords, confirmed 19 Dee. 1767. ( b ) The grantee was son of Lord Henry Stuart, by Gertrude Amelia, da. and h. of George (Mason-Villiers), Earl of Grandison, and Viscount Grandison of Dromana [I.], and was maternally, thro* the families of Mason, Villiers and Fitzgerald, descended from, (and the representative of) Gerald Fitzgerald of the Decies, the father of Maurice, cr. Viscount Decies [I.], in 1569, as above stated.
