He served in the army under the Duke of Marlborough ; was Lieut. Col. of the 26th Foot (Cameronians), in the defeat of the insurgents at Preston, 13 Nov. 1715, where he was wounded. CoL of the 30th Foot, 1716 ; of the second troop of Horse Gren. Guards, 1717 ; of the 4th Horse Gren. Guards, 1719-27. He IB. in or before 1724, Charlotte, da. and coheir of Anthonv UoWE, of Oxfordshire. He d. in Kent, 17 Feb. 1726/7, in his 3flth year.( d ) Will pr. Nov. 1727. His widow, who was a Lady of the Bedchamber to the Princess of Orange, d. in Holland, Feb. 1743/4. Will pr. 1744. VI. 1727. 0. VII. 1748. 7. William (Forrester), Lord Forrester of Corstop- hink [S.], cousin and h. male, being only s. and h. of the Hon. John Forrester, Capt. R.N., by Elizabeth, sister of Sir Charles Tyrrkl, which John was 6th and yst. s. of William, the 4th Lord, and d. 12 Jan. 1737. He m. Hannah. He d. s.p. at Colern, Wilts, Nov. 1763, when the issue male of the 4th Lord became extinct. Admon. 17 Nov. 1763. His widow survived him many years. Her will pr. Oct. 1S26. VIII. 17G3. S. Caroline, suo jure Baroness Forrester op Cors- TOPH1KB [S.], cousin of the last Lord and eldest sister and heir of line of the 6th Lord, being eldest da. of the 5th Lord and entitled (under the regrant in 1651 of the peerage) to the peerage on the failure of heirs male of the body of the 3d Lord, as heir of line of the said 3d Lord. She m. George Cockbubn, of Ormistouu (s. and h. of John C. of the same, one of the Lords of the Admiralty 1717-32) who waa Capt. R.N. and was Comptroller of the Navy, 1756-70. He d. at Brighton 23 July 1770. The Baroness d. in Portland street, Marylebone, 25 Feb., and was bur. 2 March 1784, at Hackney, Midx. Will pr. March 1784. IX. 1784. 9. [1.], and 1st Baron Verulam of Gouhamduuy [G.B.I, by Harriet [</. S Nov. 1786], only da. and h. of Edward Walter, of Stalbridge, Dorset, and Harriet [d. 5 March 1795], 2d and yst. da. [whose issue, in 1808, became heir of Hue] to George, the 5th Lord. He was 6. 26 Sep. 1775. He sue. his father as Viscount Grimston, &c. [I.J and Bauon Vehdlam of Gobhambuhy [G.B.] a few weeks later (30 Dee. 1808), than his succession to the Sarony of Forrester [S.] He was cr. 24 Nov. 1815, Eaul of Vebulah. See under that title.
