He was bap. 17 Jan. 1657/8, at Preschute, Wilts. He d. s.p., being murdered in Italy. 20 April ami was bur. 15 Oct. 1678, at Bedwyn Magna, aged 20. XIV. 1678. G. Charles (Seymour), Duke of Somerset, Earl ok Hertford, &c, br. and h., bap. 13 Aug. 1662, at Preschute afsd. K.G., &C, and well known as " the proud J'ukc." Abbey, when the Dukedom of Somerset [see that dignity] and Barony of Seymour passed to the heir male of the grantee of 1517 while the Earldom of Hertford, the Ilarony of Beauchamp, ami the Barony of Seymour uf Trowbridge became extinct.
