The F^arldom of Jersey aud the other peerages enjoyed by his father having been sr. by William III. would, of course, not be allowed by the {titular) King of the house of Stuart. ( b ) Mrs. Montagu in her " Lady of last century " (p. 205) speaks of him as " Lord Villiers, the Prince of Maccaronies." (°) His claim to this Viscountcy (which had been inherited in 1766 by his grandfather) was established in the House of Lords 10 June 1839.
