From May 1735 to April, 1740, he was Lord Privy Seal. He m. (Lie. from Fac. office, 23 April, 1698), Lady Henrietta Churchill, afterwards, 1722, suo jure Duchess of Marlborough. See fuller par- ticulars of her under that dignity, a: 1702. Her Grace d. 24 Oct. and was bur. 9 Nov. 1733, in Westm. Abbey, in her 53d year. The Earl d. s.p.ni.s.,(a) 17 Jan. 1766, aged 87, and was bur. 25 in Kensington Church. M.I. At his death the Earldom of Godolphin and the T'iseounley of Riolton (cr. 1706) as also the Barony of Godolphin of Mi«lltm (cr. 1684) became extinct. Will pr. 1766. He m. firstly, 18 Feb. 1733/4, at St. James' Westm., Barbara, yst. da. of William (Uentikck), 1st Earl op Portland, by his Becond wife, Jane, da. of Sir John Temple. She d. 15 April 1736, at Whitehall, and was bur. at Wexham, Bucks. He 7ii. secondly, 28 May 1747 (also) at St. James' Westm., Anne, 1st da. of John (Fitzwilliam), 2d Earl Fitzwilliam [I.], by Anne, da. and h. of John Stringer. M.A., £S June 1797 ; was M.P. for Helston, 1799-1S02 ; for Lewes, 1S02-06, and for Cambridgeshire in six Paris., 1810-31, and was en, 14 May 1832, BARON GODOLPHIN OF FARNHAM ROYAL, co. Buckingham. High Steward of Cambridge, 1836. He m., 31 March 1S00, Elizabeth Charlotte, 3d da. of William (Eden), 1st Baron Auckland, by Eleanor, da. of Sir Gilbert Eliot, Bart. She, who was 4. 21 March 1780, d, 17 April 1847, aged 67, at Gogmagog Hills, co. Cambridge. Admon. July 1847- He d. there 15 Feb. 1850, aged 72. Will pr. May 1850. II. 1850. 2. George Godolphin (Osborne), Baron Godolphin of Farnham Royal, 1st s. and h., 4. 16 July 1802. He sue. to the 15 Feb. 1S50, and sue. his cousin, nine years later, 4 May 1859, as Duke of &c.
