Northumberland. Their armorial ensigns were (with variations) " Ou, a lion rampant, Art/.," and they are, apparently, totally distinct from the great house of Grey of Coduor and its illustrious descendants whose coat armour was entirely different. From this Northumbrian house sprung in the male line (1) the Lords Grey of Powis, Earls of Tankerville in Normandy (2) the Lords Grey of Werke, 1 <>-2 4 to 1700, Earl of Tanker- ville, 1695 to 1701, and (3) the Lords Grey of Howick, 1801, Earls Grey, 1806.
