Northumberland. Their armorial ensigns were (with variations) " Ou, a lion rampant, Art/.," and they are, apparently, totally distinct from the great house of Grey of Coduor and its illustrious descendants whose coat armour was entirely different. See p. 96, note " a," 51(6 " Grey de Coduor," for a notice of that race. From this Northumbrian house sprung in the male line (1) the Lords Grey of Powis, Earls of Tankerville in Normandy (2) the Lords Grey of Werke, 1 <>-2 4 to 1700, Earl of Tanker- ville, 1695 to 1701, and (3) the Lords Grey of Howick, 1801, Earls Grey, 1806.
