Chester, and is said to have been known the greater part of his life by the surname of Floyd. ( c ) Her admon. as " the Hon. Anne Stafford, of High Holborn, Midx., widow," was granted 21 March 1648/9, to " Henry Wilsford, alias Wildford, of Ridley Hall, co. Essex, Esq.," for use of Mary, Viscountess Stafford, da. of deed. ( d ) This James was grandson of Sir James Widford, who, having taken in siege the town of Haddington, "was to have been made Viscount of that place, but d. of his wounds before he was rewarded."
