She was *. 26 July 1834=j= (») He is the first person who held the great Seal successively both in Ireland and Great Britain, which was subsequently done by Lord Campbell, who held that high office in 1841 in Ireland, and iu 1859 in Great Britain. ( b ) An able, most acute, and most profound lawyer, his legal works being of the greatest value, e.g., " The Law of Vendors and Purchasers " (written before he was 21), " The Tieatisc on Powers " (1808), " The handy booh on Property Law," &c. (°) The will and some eight or more codicils were proved from parole evidence (chiefly of the Hon. Charlotte Sugdeu, a da. of the deceased) of their existence, it being held that the testator had in no way sanctioned their destruction. A full account of this remarkable trial is in the Aii'i. Peg. for 1875, pp. 183 194. ( d ) He was b. 6 Nov. 1799, being an illegit. son of Sir John St. Anbyn, 5th Bart., by Juliana Vinicombe who afterwards (1 July 1822) were married. This Sir John </. s.p. legit. 10 Aug. 1839, when the Baronetcy (er. 11 Dec. 1671) became extinct. (°) This is one of the eight "Jubilee " Baronies, as to which see vol. ii, p. 238, note " a," sub " Cheylesmore." (f) It seems a curious anomaly that when this gentleman, the son of a bastard, was
