It is certainly- incorrect as Thomas, Duke of Exeter is described as still "Admiral of England " in a charter dated 13 July 2 Hen. VI (1424), and the patent of 1426, after reciting that Exeter had a grant of the office for life, appoints Bedford ^'■durante vita ipsius Ducts Exon et ultra hoc quamdiu Regi placnerity C") During the minority of Henry (Holand), Duke of Exeter, who had been ap- pointed (jointly with his father and in survivorship).
