Artaces hearing the virgin speak thus wisely, and admiring her person, which was exceedingly beautiful, called Sumbat, and signified to him his desire to release the young Sathin, prince of the Alans, and make peace with the king of that people, if the latter would give him in marriage his daughter Sathinik.
Sumbat, having approved of the king s wishes^ was dispatched to the king of the Alans, to inform him of the conditions on which his son would be restored, and hostilities should cease. The king of the Alans consenting, Sathin was set at liberty, and a treaty of peace being signed> Artaces became possessed of the beautiful Sathinik, with whom he returned to Artashat; on his arrival there, he made preparations for his nuptials, and the marriage shortly after todc place. She was assigned the first place as queen amongst the women of the king. Many individuals of her nation having accompanied the bride, they were ennobled by the title of Aravelians.
