ARTICLE VI.

The inhabitants and their religious miniſters ſhall be maintained in the poſſeſſion of their eſtates, enjoy their poſſeſſions, moveable and immoveable, of what nature ſoever they may be; they ſhall be maintained and conſerved in their privileges, rights, honours, and exemptions; and the free negroes and mulattos in their liberties.
