The principal buildings are the Raji's residence, 5 Ilindu temples, 4 mosques, the tahsili, police station, sarci, and school. Nanpárá is a flourishing town; and now that it is a station on the newly-opened railway from l'atná, the place will doubtless rapidly grow in importance. Nansári.-Small chiefship in Bhandírá District, Central Provinces; 9 miles south-east of Kámthá; comprising , villages, and occupying an area of $599 acres, of which 5878 are under cultivation. Population (1991) 4771. The chief is a Brahman, descended from an official family attached to the late Nagpur Government. A large weckly market for cattle is held at Kaltipar, on this estate. Nanta.–Village in Kotah State, Rajputana Population (1881) 1839. Situated in lat. 25° 12' N., and long. 75° 51' E., on the route from Kotal town to Búndi (Boondee), 5 miles north-west from Kotah and 19 south-east from Bundi. The palace of Zalim Singh, formerly minister of the Kotah State, is situated here, and Nanta was at one time a flourishing town, when full of Zalim Singh's numerous adherents. The place is now little more than an agricultural village, and the palace (a fine specimen of a Rajput baronial residence) and its gardens are falling into decay. Naodwár.–Forest reserve in the north of Darrang District, Assam, lying between the Bhorolí and Bar Dikrái rivers, and bounded north by the Aká Hills. Area, S2 square miles. Naogaon.-District of Assan.—See NOWGONG. Naogaon.-Sub-division of Rajshahi District, Bengal, comprising the three police circles (thánás) of Naogaon, Vanda, and Panchpur. Area, 603 square miles, with 1362 villages, and 43,062 houses. Total population, 268,579, namely, males 134,435, and females 134,144. Iverage density of population, 445*4 persons per square mile. Classified according to religion, there were in 1981 – Muhammadans, 205,361 ; Hindus, 63, 204; and Christians, 14. The Sub-clivision contains i criminal court, a regular police force of 51 men, and a village watch or rural police of 640 chaukidirs. Naogaon.-Village in Rajshahi District, Bengal, and head-quarters of Naogaon Sub-division; situated in lat. 24° 45' 30" N., and long. 88° 58' 30" E., on the west bank of the river Jamuná. Important as the centre of the gínjá (hemp) cultivation of Rájsháhí ; it is from this small tract of country that nearly the whole of India is supplied with the narcotic. Population under 5000.
