O’Donnell.

Medical Officer, Kolar Gold Fields, Champion Reefs; b. in Tipperary, Ireland; educ: Ledwich School, and the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin; practised at the Rhymney Iron Works, South Wales, and at Consett Iron Works, Durham; selected as Medical Officer of Messrs. John Taylor and Sons of Kolar Gold Fields, 1885; came out to India and joined his duties, same year; induced Messrs. John Taylor & Co. to start a small hospital with accommodation for 48 patients, which was opened in 1887; is chiefly responsible for the erection of the present up-to-date hospital which was completed in 1900: visited Ireland and took his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, 1900; is a Surgeon-Major in the K.G.F. O’Dwyer, Hon’ble Sir Michael Francis, B.A., C.S.I., (1908); K.C.S.I., I.S.O., Lieutenant-Governor, Punjab; b. 1864; s. of John O’Dwyer of Barrowstown, Tipperary; educ: St. Stanislaus College, Tallamore, and Balliol College, Oxford; passed B.A., 1885; gained 1st class Honor in Law: joined service, 1885; Director of Land Records and Agriculture, Punjab, 1896; Settlement Officer, Alwar and Bharatpur States, 1897; Resident, Hyderabad (Deccan), 1909; Agent to Governor-General in Central India, 1910-12; Lieutenant-Governor, Punjab, 1913. Oel, Raja of; Kishen Dutt Singh; s. of Raja Anurad Singh; b. 1861; succeeded to Estate, 1879; title recognised, 1877; the Estate comprises of 164 villages in Kheri, and the village of Baransa in Sitapur. Address: Oel, Kheri, U.P., India.

Oldfield, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Francis DuPre, Puisne Judge, High Court, Madras; educ: at the Trinity College, Cambridge; joined service as Assistant Collector, 1891; Cantonment Magistrate, Pallavaram and St. Thomas’ Mount, 1892; District and Sessions Judge, 1897; Judge, Madras High Court, 1912. Oldfield, Sir Richard Charles, Judge, High Court, U.P., India, e.s. of Henry Swann Oldfield; b. 1828; educ. Eton, and at Haileybury; joined service, 1848: volunteered his services during the Mutiny of 1857, and was present at Agra; became Additional Judge of the High Court, U.P., 1874; confirmed, 1881; retired, 1887. Oldham, William Benjamin, I.C.S., C.I.E., (1883); b. Monkstown, Dublin, 1815; s. of Thomas Wilson Oldham; educ: at Kingston School and Trinity College, Dublin; joined service in Bengal, 1865; employed in Famine Service in Orissa, Bihar, Madras and Bengal and on the Frontier Service in the Lushai Hills, 1892; Member, Board of Revenue, 1900; Commanded the Calcutta Volunteer Rifles: served is Santhal disturbances, 1880-81; in South Lushai Hills, 1891-93; A.O.C. to Viceroy of India.
