THEREFORE The Queenis Grace Regent , with advife of the three Eftaites forefaidis , hes ftatute and ordained, that there bee na Deakones cholen in times cumming within Burgh, bot the Proveft , Bail- lies , and Councell of the Burgh to chufe the maift honeft man ol craft , of gude confeience , ane of everie craft, to vifie their craft , that they labour fufficientlie , and that die famin bee fuffkient ftuffe and warke: And thir perfones to be called vifitoures of their craft , and to be elected and chofen zeirlie at CMichael-mes , be the Proveft, Baillies, and Councell of Burgh : And that they thereafter give their aith in Judgement , to vifie lealelie and trewlie their faide craft , without ony power to mak gaddering or afiembling of them , to onie private convention , or making of ony ades or ftatutes , bot ail Craftef-men in times cumming , to be under the Proveft , Baillies , and Councell.
