The pleges of the Bordours , fkld be placed in the North-fide ofFotch , and the Hie-land pleges , on tbe South-fide thereof. ITEM, It is thocht expedient, ftatute and ordained ; That all pleges received for the gude rule and quietnefle of die Bordours , fail be placed on the North-fide of the water of Forth , widiout exception or difpenfation , and the pleges for the gude rule of the Hie-lands and lies , to be placed on the South- fide of the fame water oiForth ; And that the Juftice- Gierke , and his deputes , to quhom the care of this ordour is committed , take fpeciall regaird to the dew execution hereof, as they and eyerie ane of them will anfwere upon the execution of their office. 107. lylnent the re lief e of the Landis-lord or Baillie. ITEM, For reliefe of the Landis-lord or Baillie , diat fall happen to be charged for entrie of his tennentes orperfones, dwelland under his jurifdi&ion , to underly the Law, or to make redrefle, that he ufe warning , and feeke the ordour of remooving , againfl his tennentes and occupiers of the ground , and make ihem the Kingis rebelles , within the fpace of fourtie dayes, after the nixt terme , un-receiving mailles or dewties fra them , in the meane time. Quhairin his diligence being tryed and fundin gude and fufficient, be the Kingis Majeflie , and his privie Councell , Or be his Juflice and his deputes : And that he performe all thinges that he culd , or that was in his power to do , after the fact com to his knawledge : In that cafe , he fall be relieved of the paine and danger of die Law. 108. ITEM, In-cafe onie Landes-lorde , Baillie or chieftaine of Clanne , fall happen to be burdened , with the taking and prefenting of onyMalefactour, and that the fame Malefadour is fugitive fra the Law , and re- fufis to relieve his Laiidis-lord , Baillie , or chieftaine : And that there-throw , according to the Lawes and generall band , they fall bee conftrained to burne the faid difobedient perfons houfe , and to hald them , their wives and baimes off the ground : It is ftatute and ordained in that cafe, that the faidis difobedient perfones, their aires, wives, bairnes, nor nautheris pretending richt fra them, or be their deedeor occa- fion, fall have onie action criminal! or civill, for the 1 aide remooving , burning and ejection, bot fall be fimplieafibilziedtherefra, and all that may follow there-upon , quhen-everorquhere-ever the fame fall be perlewed. 109.
