And to command all perfons in whom they ihall fee manifeft intention to make trouble or diforder, either by gathering together of ydle and diforderlie per- fons, or by public!: beating or wearing ofPiftoiets or other forbidden weapons, and fik other ryotous and fwaggring behaviour ; to binde themfelves and finde caution under competent paincs to obferve his Majefties peace , and for their compearance before his Majefties Juftice or Lords of his privie Councell, to underly fik order as ihall be found convenient for punilliing their tranfgreffions or (laying of troubles and enormities. Ordeining alfo the faids Commiffioners to give true advertifement and information to the Lords of his Majefties privie Councell , juftice generail and his deputes , his Majefties Theiaurer and other Magiftrats and officers whom it effeirs , of the names of fik faithful! and unfufpecf witnef les and afiyfers to be fummoned in all crymes and. diforders whilk Ihall happen to fall forth within the faids Shyres , as Ihall be knawn to be maift meet and able for tryell and probation of the fame , and for efchewing that fik as are either aged , feiklie or unable to travell, orignorantofthefactstobetryed, be not unjuftlie vexed or unnecellarlte drawne from their awne houfes and affaires , for matters wherein they are not able to give any light. 8. Act of the apparel cf Judges, C%lagljirats and Kirk-men. ^U R SOVERAIGNE LORD, and Eftaites of this prefent Parliament , finding by daylie ex. perience that the greatnes of his Majefties Empyre , magnificence of his Court , fame of his Wifdome and Juftice, and of the civilitie of his fubjects, hesalreadiebegunto allure divers foraine Princes, and other ftrangers of all Eftaites to make mair frequent repair to this Countrie , nor ever they did in any preceeding age. Whilk refortofftrangers will by all appearance baith continue, and daylie mair and mair increafe ; and by them na doubt , report will go through all the warld of the Eftaite and governement of the Kingdome , accor- ding to the order whilk they ihall fee obferved within the fame. Whereof the rules and good exemple flowing TheEfldtts from the Eftaites of Parliament and Magiftrates, to the haill remanent fubjects of the Realme, it is maiit 'mm. U necefiare that fik gravitie and comelines be ufed by the Lords and Commiflioners of Parliament , and others i Magiftrats in their apparell and behaviour , as may beft deferve the good report and true commendation of all Princes , Noble-men and others ftrangers , wha ihall have occafion to fee and relate the fame. The refped : whereofhaving induced his Majeftie to prefcry ve to the Nobilitie apparrell for the Parliament becoming their honourable Eftaite. And underftanding that the remanent members of that heigh Court have not reformed themfelves to the like convenience , neither yet that the courfe intended by his Majeftie for difcharging Noble- men and Gentle-men to be elected Provefts and Magriftrats of Burrowes '^whereof nane ihould be capable but Burgefies, acluall traffickers and inhabitants of the faid burrowes) hestane fik effect as is maift necefiare for < preiervation of the liberties and good eftate of the faids Burrowes , and hindering the diffipation of their com- mon good and perverting of their priviledges.
