And his Majefty, with advice forefaid , Refcinds and Annulls any Claufes contained in the forefaid thirty feventh Acl: of the firft Seffion of his Majefties firft Parliament , or in any other Acts of Parliament, in fo far allanerly as the fame impofes Bullion upon the native Commodities of this Kingdom , and others to be exported forth thereof, and no further-. And in lieu and place thereof, Statutes and Ordains, That the imported Goods and Commodities under-written be lyable in payment of the feveral quantities of Bullion aftermentioned , viz. Spanifh , Rhenifh and Brandy-wines of all forts , each Tun twenty four ounces, twelve denier fine ; French-wines of all fortes, every Tun twelve ounces; Loaf-fuggar the hundredweight, fix ounces; Playing-cards, one ounce the grofs ; Paper for Printing and Writing of all forts, one ounce every fix rimms; Gray-paper, every twelve rimms one ounce; Deals, every thoufand five ounces; Single trees, every thoufand five ounces ; Double-trees, every thoufand ten ounces; Double-double-trees, and all other greater Fir-timber, every thoufand twenty ounces ; Steel, every hundredweight one ounce; Iron and Iron-work, beaten of all forts , every Tun two ounces ; Onions and Aples , every two Barrels one ounce; Mum-beer, every Barrel four ounces; Prunes, every Tun four ounces; Raifins, Cur- rants and Figs, every Tun ten ounces ; Iron-pots of all forts, every dozen one ounce; Sop, every Barrel two ounces; Suggar-candy , every hundred weight ten ounces ; Copper kettles , Brafs-pans, and allo- ther made work in Brafs or Copper, Yetline or beaten, every hundred weight four ounces; Mader, every thoufand weight five ounces; Hats of all forts, every three dozen two ounces ; Window-glafs of all forts, every Cheft one ounce ;Limons and Oranges, each thoufand one ounce; Hopes of all forts, every hundred weight one ounce ; Spanifh-leather , Marikin, Tanned-leather, Wild-leather, and all other forts of Lea- ther, e xcept CMtifiovia- leather, every hundred weight one ounce; Gloves of all forts , each dozen one ounce; Whale-bone or Baline , ilk two hundred weight one ounce. And Statutes and Ordains, That the Merchant or other importers of the abovewritten Commodities or any of them, make ready payment of the forefaids quantities of Bullion hereby impofed, to the Officers of His Majefties Mint for the time, being of the fine- nefs of twelve Deniers , and being bafer to be confidered by weight and reckoning , and that immediately upon the entry of the faids Goods ; And in cafe the faid importer mall fail to pay in the faids Bullion at his en- try, he fhall be holden and aftricled , to make payment of the fum of twelve Shillings Scots for ilk ounce thereof to the Collectors , at the Port or Precinct where he enters the faids Goods; And which money fo payed by him at his entry, fhall be redeemable from the faids Collectors, upon the payment of the forefaids quantities of Bullion in to the Officers of his Majefties Mint: Provided alwayes, fuch payment of Bullion be made within fourty dayes, after the date of the entry of the Goods , and not thereafter. And it is hereby De- clared, that it fhall not be lawful to the faid Tackl-men, Collectors or their Deputies, to permit the faids importers to break Bulk, or to give them Tranfire's or other warrant thereanent, till firft the faids Impor- ters report or produce the Mint-mafters receipt of the due quantity of Bullion payed injpecie , or elfe, that the Tackf-men, Collectors or their Deputes, receive payment or twelve Shillings Scot s for ilk ounce of Bullion not delivered in to the Mint ; And for ilke ounce of Bullion of twelve Denier fine, fo payed in to the Mint iff Jpecie by the Importer, he is to have delivered back to him in his Majefties Coin three pounds, ten pennies Scots, and for ilk ounce of eleven Deniers fine, he is to have delivered back to him fifty five ihillings, nine pennies Scots , and fo proportionably conform to the finenefsofthe Bullion given in, and that in fatisfaftion of all Dues whatfoever that can be acclaimed by the Officers of the Mint, for his Majefty or otherwife. And whereas, by the former Acts of Parliament made anent Bullion, the general Tackl-men and collectors of the cuftoms and their ©eputies, were bound and oblieged to take ficker Surety or Pledges, fuch as they would I be anfwerable for, for the Bullion to be brought in, and which then lay upon export , and that what refted not delivered to the Mint, the faids Tackl-men, collectors and their Deputies, were to be anf .verable therefore ; And that by the conftant practice of his Majefties Exchequer , the faids Tackf-men and collectors by their Tacks and commifiions given to them, and Obligations granted by them, are bound to make count, reckoning and payment of the whole Bullion then arifmg upon the export of this Kingdom. And left his Majefty or his faid Mint fhould fuftain any hurt or prejudice , or be at any uncertainty by loofing of thele bonds, or by this change ; Therefore it is hereby Statute and Ordained, that all general . Tackf-men of his Majefties cuftoms of this Kingdom, general collectors of the fame and their Deputies prefentandtocome, ihall be, and are hereby bound and oblieged, virtute Officii, and by the acceptation of their Tacke or Office, to make count, reckoning and payment to the Officers of his Maiefties Mint, off all and whatfoever quantities of Bullion that fhall yearly ai ife upon the imported commodities aforementi- oned, and which fhall be delivered by the Merchant in Jpecie-, and alfo to make payment of all fuch fums of money, as mall be payed by the Merchant to them, in place of Bullion , at the aforefaid rate of twelve Ihillings per ounce, to the General and Matter of the Mint for the time being, and that quarterly; be- gining the firft quarters payment at the terme oUVhitfondaj next , one thoufand , fix hundred and feventy, ; and fo-forth yearly and quarterly thereafter. And whereas the faids Tackf-men, collectors or their De- puties, were formerly holden and aftr icted to give in exact accounts of the whole commodities exported yearly forth of this Kingdom upon Oath, whereby the full charge of the Bullion was yearly known; And to the effect, that the full charge of the Bullion now impofed upon the forefaid commodities imported , maybe I als fully known : It is kereby Statute and Ordained , That the faids Tackf-men , collectors ox their Deputies atr
