Murdo Steward ſucceeded to his father, Robrt Earle of Fife, in the governement of Scotland, in the zeire of the warld 5390. In the zeire of Chriſt 1420. And ruled foure zeires, Iames 1. zit being a captive in England. Both the father and his ſonne Walter were executed thereafter for oppreſſion of the ſubjectes be Iames 1.

CIII James the 2. ſucceeded to his father, in the zeire of the warlde 5407. In the zeare of Chriſt 1437. a Prince ſubject to great troubles in his youth. He maried Marie daughter to Arnold Duke of Geldre, Siſters daughter to Charles, ſurnamed Audax, the laſt Duke of Burgundy &c. who bare unto him three ſonnes, James the 3 Iohn Erle of Mar, Alexander Duke of Albanie. and Marie wife firſt to Thomas Boyde, Erle of Arrane, and after his decourting to James Hammiltoun of Cadzou was ſlaine at the ſege of Roxbrugh in the 24. zeare of his reigne.

CIIII James 3. ſucceeded to his father in the zeire of the warld 5430. in the zeire of Chriſt 1460. A Prince corrupted by wicked Courtiers. He maried Margaret daughter to 'Chriſtianus 1 . ſurnamed Dives, King of Denimarke, Norway and Sweden. He was ſlaine at the field of Bannock-burne, in the 29. zeire of his reigne, and was buried at Cambus-kenneth.

CV James 4. ſucceeded to his father, in the zeire of the warld 5459. In the zeire of Chriſt 1489. A noble and courageous Prince. He maried, Margaret. Eldeſt daughter to Henry 7. Erle of Richmond, King of England and Elizabeth daughter to Edward 4, In whoſe twa perſones the twa houſes of Lancaſter and Yorke were united, and the bludie civill weires of England pacified. He was ſlaine at Flowdon be England, in the twentie five zeire of his reigne.

CVI James 5. ſuccceeded to his father in the zeire of the warld 5484. In the zeire of Chriſt 1514. A juſt Prince and ſever. He maried firſt Magdalen daughter to Frances 1. King of France, who died ſhorthe thereafter without ſucceſſion. After her he maried Marie of Lorayne, Duches of Longe-ville, daughter to Claude Duke of Guiſe. He died at Falkland in the 29. zeire of his reigne, He was buried at Halirude-houſe.

CVII Marie ſucceeded to her Father James 5 In the zeire of the warld 5513. In the zeire of Chriſt 1543. a Princeſs verteouſlie inclined. She married firſt Frances 2. Daulphin, thereafter King of France, then after his death, returning hame to Scotland, ſhe married Henrie Steward Duke of Albanie, &c. Lord Darley. ſonne to Mathew Erle of Lennox, (a comelie Prince, Pronepnoy to Henrie 7. King of England) to whome ſhe bare. James the 6. She was put to death in England 8 Febr. 1586. after 18. zeires captivitie.

CVIII James 6. A gude, Godlie and learned Prince, ſucceeded to his Mother, in the zeire of the warlde 5537. In the zeire of Chriſt 1567. He married Anna Daughter to Frederick the Second King of Denmark, And Sophia Ulricas the Duke of Meckelburgh his Daughter, quha hes borne unto him alreadie Henrie Frederick the Prince, the 19 Febr, 1593. and Elizabeth, 19. Auguſt. 1596, and Charles Duke of Albany, 19. November, 1600. And upon the death of Queen Elizabeth, he ſucceeded to the Crowne of England, and was Crown'd King at Weſtminſter, 25. July. 1604. He had alſo by his wife Queen Anna, two other Daughters born in England. Lady Mary, and Lady Sophia, who both died young. Prince Henry died upon the ſexth of November, 1612. Lady Elizabeth was married to Frederick the 5. of that name, Count Palatine of the Rhine, afterwards elected King of Bohemia, by whom ſhe had many Children. King James died at his palace at Theobalds in England, 27. March, 1625. when he had reigned 22. years over Great Britain and Ireland.

CIX King Charles the firſt, An incomparable Prince, for pietie, learning and venue; ſucceeded to his Father in the year of the world, 5595. and in the year of Chriſt, 1625. He married Mary the daughter of Henry the 4. King of France, and Mary the Daughter of Francis great Duke of Tuſcany, of the Noble Family of Di-Medices, in year, 1625. He had iſſue by her Charles Prince of Wales ( Our preſent Sacred Soveraign ) born 29. May, 1630. His Royal Highneſs James Duke of Albany and York, born 14. October 1633. And, Henry Duke of Glouceſter, born 20. July, 1640. And had four Daughters, Princeſs Mary, who was born 4. November, 1631 . and was Married 2. May, 1641. to William Naßaw Prince of Orange, and had to him one Son, William Prince of Orange, who now liveth. She died 24. December, 1660. His ſecond Daughter, the Lady Elizabeth, was born 28 December, 1635. His third Daughter Lady Ann, was born 17. March, 1636. who both died young. His fourth Daughter Lady Henrieta Maria, was born, 16. June, 1644. and married to the Duke of Anjow, Brother to Lewis the 14. preſent King of France; ſhe died in the year, 1670. The Duke of Gloceſter died 13. Septemb. 1660. Charles the firſt was by a ſtrange and unparallel'd villany judged by a publick mock tryall of a pretended High Court of Juſtice at Weſtminſter, and by ſome of his moſt rebellious and perſidious Subjects, was execute and ſuffered Martyrdome before his own Pallace at Whitehall, 30. January, 1649.

CX King Charles the ſecond, a great, wiſe, moſt mercifull,and Magnanimous Prince ſucceeded to his Father,in the year of the world, 5619. in the year of Chriſt, 1649. He was Crown'd King of Scotland, at Scoone, 1. January, 1651. and after nine years exile, by a rebellious, prevalent party in England, was in the year 1660. miraculouſly, and wonderfully, reſtored peaceably, to the Royall Throne of his Anceſtours, and to the Crowns of Great Britain and Ireland, and was Crown'd at Weſtminſter. 23. April, 1661. He married Katharina Infanta of Portugal, Daughter to Iohn King of Portugal, and Donna Lucia, Daughter to the Duke of Medina Sidmia. He is now preſently King of Great Britain and Ireland, whom God Almighty bleſs, and long preſerve, and may the Lineall Succeſſion of that Royall Family ("under whoſe happy Government this Kingdom hath flouriſhed theſe 2012. years, in an un-interupted Line) continue by a juſt, and Lineal Deſſcent while the Sun and Moon endure.
