The power of such a man is exercised directly over the people of his own village, and if his reputation for mana spreads abroad, he will have a wide influence in his islandnd even beyond it; young men from other parts, as well as the youths of his village, will come and live in his gamali, his Suqe club-house, and will carry out his orders even to the punishment of death in peace, and fight for him in war.
