though, men have been seen lurking near the jail, and it is believed that the dispersing of the mob was only a ruse to throw the officers off their guard. It is feared an attempt will be made tonight to take Dollar and Keffer from jail and hang them. Only the regu- lar guard is at the jail. Dollard killed Frank Bryant in a saloon on Wednes- day night, after having brained Ross Stringer with a board in the street. He was a rough rider, and was " shooting up " the town at the time. Keffer was con- victed of murdering William Marrin, a stage tender on the Lander-Rawlins line, two years ago, and was sentenced to be hanged, but a stay of execution was granted pending an appeal to the Supreme Court.
