Charles I. had 2 sons, /I/ Christopher, lient.-gov. of the Island of Barbados, capt.- general of the lieeward Islands, father of Christopher (elder son), fellow All Souls, Oxon. sub- sequently entered the service of AViLLiAM III. in the wars of Flanders, and eventually succeeded his father in the government of the Leeward Island, he bequeathed his library and £10,000 to the college of All Souls for the building of a library, he also gave an estate of £2,000 per annum to the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts for the building and endowment of a college at Barbadoes ; he d. 7 April, 1710. /2/ John, col. of the life guards, Barbadoes; treasurer and privy councillor ; m. dau. of Col.
